Brigitte Wex
Associate Professor of Chemistry
Brigitte Wex is an associate professor of chemistry. In 2006, she joined LAU as full-time assistant professor and was subsequently promoted in 2013 to associate professor with tenure.
Research Interests
Dr. Wex is a synthetic organic materials chemist for opto-electronic device applications. In addition, her research work focuses on computational chemistry as a tool to model structural, photophysical and electronic properties for materials applications, transition metal complexes for biological, photodynamic therapy and optoelectronic applications.

Professional Memberships
She has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed internationally renowned journals and presented posters and talks at international conferences. She is an active member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC), and the German Chemical Society. She is the founding Student Chapter Advisor of the first ACS Student Chapter in Lebanon.
