Carol Hanna

Instructor of English

Carol Hanna is a full-time instructor of English and ENG 101 coordinator at the Department of English and Creative Arts. She has around 25 years of teaching experience in higher education.

Hanna is CELTA-trained and an alumna of OPEN (Online Professional English Network), as well as a member of the OPEN Community of Practice. She received local and international professional training on active learning and team-based learning.

As an ESL instructor and former Writing Center tutor, she helps students address their weaknesses. Believing that students learn best through doing, not just listening, she designs interactive activities that engage learners, sharpen their critical thinking skills, and include both formative and summative assessments to provide them with constructive feedback and ensure their success.
