Costantine Daher

Professor of Biology
Dean, School of Nursing

Dr. Costantine Daher is the dean of the School of Nursing at LAU, in September 2019. Before that, he was interim dean of the School of Arts and Sciences. He joined LAU as an instructor in 1991. After completing his PhD in 1998, he was promoted to the rank of assistant professor, then to the rank of associate professor in 2005 and to the rank of a professor in 2016. He served as chairperson of the Department of Natural Sciences between 2005 and 2014. He also served as an assistant deans in the School of Arts and Sciences.

Research Interests

Dr. Daher has published more than 44 peer-reviewed articles in various international journals. His recent research interest is mainly focused on drug discovery in cancer research whereby various natural products and chemically synthesized platinum and Ruthenium complexes are investigated.

He has served and chaired several university councils including the Institutional Review Board (IRB), worked on biology curricula review (BS and MS) and updating lab facilities. He has supervised several MS and PhD students, organized poster conferences, and actively participated in the LAU accreditation process.

Dr. Daher has many sports hobbies such as swimming, tennis, volleyball and football.
