Khalil Mershad

Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Khaleel Mershad is currently an assistant professor of computer science at LAU. He received his BE in Computer Engineering and Informatics in 2004 from the Beirut Arab University (BAU), Lebanon, in addition to his ME and PhD in Computer and Communications Engineering from the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 2007 and 2012. He worked as a Research Director at Qatar University between 2013 and 2016.

Dr. Mershad served as the chairperson of the Computer Science Department at the Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS) between 2020 and 2022. He has also been an IEEE member since 2018, where he became involved in many research projects in the fields of mobile computing, cybersecurity, blockchain and wireless networks. He published more than 50 scientific papers in highly reputed journals and conferences related to computer science and engineering.

Research Interests

His research interests include ad hoc networks, vehicular communications, Internet of Things, data management and availability, parallel and distributed computing, cloud computing, blockchain and educational technology.
