Mahmoud Hojeij

Assistant Professor of Practice

Born in Lebanon in 1975, Mahmoud Hojeij is a contemporary artist, filmmaker, media and film professor and writer. He received a BA in Communication Arts from LAU in 1997, and, in 2001, an MA in Media Studies from New School University, New York. In 2006, he received a PhD in Media and Communication from the European Graduate School in Switzerland. He has published numerous articles in the media, and his work has been shown internationally.

In 2022, Dr. Hojeij joined LAU as an assistant professor.

Research Interests

Mahmoud is interested in exploring the image with respect to its origin, identity and truth. His first feature film was Stable Unstable (2013).
