Sami Baroudi

Dr. Sami E. Baroudi is a professor of political science and international affairs in the Department of Political Science and International Affairs. He received his PhD in Political Science from Indiana University in 1992. He served as the associate chairperson of the then Department of Social Sciences. He played a major role in launching the MA in International Affairs Program at LAU and in the periodic revisions of the BA program in Political Science/International Affairs.

Between October 2001 and September 2005, Dr. Baroudi served as chairperson of the then departments of Education and Social Sciences in Beirut. In fall 2003, he was a visiting associate professor at Villanova University, Pennsylvania, USA. In October 2005, he was appointed assistant provost for Faculty Affairs, a position he held until October 2013. In the 2013-2014 academic year, he served as the interim chair of the then Department of Communication Arts. Between October 2014 and August 2016, he was an assistant dean in the School of Arts and Sciences.
