Program Mission
The Education Program at LAU strives for excellence in the preparation of qualified educators, capable of serving as competent practitioners and leaders, who adhere to professionalism, support equity and social justice, and commit to constantly innovating their practices through research, scholarship and on-going personal and professional development.
Program Educational Objectives
The program aims to prepare graduates who can:
- Demonstrate knowledge, skills and dispositions needed to be competent educational practitioners.
- Exhibit high ethical standards, and demonstrate professional responsibility.
- Develop abilities and dispositions needed for the advancement of their practices through professional development, research and scholarship.
Student Outcomes
At the completion of this program, students should be able to:
- Apply learning and developmental theories to create inclusive learning environments that support the diverse needs of all students
- Demonstrate the effective application of content knowledge and appropriate progression levels, ensuring alignment with individual learner needs.
- Integrate planning, technology, and assessment, by using various instructional strategies to create dynamic and effective learning experiences that cater to diverse learner needs.
- Exhibit professional responsibility, collegiality and ethical conduct while actively engaging in continuous professional learning and research.
