Freshman Program Admission Requirements
Declare major in BS Biology, BS Chemistry, BS Nutrition, BS Applied Physics
- Freshman students who want to declare a major in BS Biology:
Freshman Sciences who have completed the freshman requirements may apply to declare their major in Biology provided they satisfy the specific minimum requirements for their major, which are:
- Passing the following courses with satisfactory performance on: BIO 101 and CHM 101
- Having a minimum cGPA of 2.5.
- Freshman students who want to declare a major in BS Chemistry:
Freshman Sciences who have completed the freshman requirements may apply to declare their major in Chemistry provided they satisfy the specific minimum requirements for their major, which are:
- Passing the following courses with satisfactory performance on: CHM 101, MTH 101 and MTH 102
- Having a minimum cGPA of 2.0.
- Freshman students who want to declare a major in BS Nutrition:
Freshman Sciences who have completed the freshman requirements may apply to declare their major in Nutrition provided they satisfy the specific minimum requirements for their major, which are:
- Passing the following courses with satisfactory performance on: BIO 101 and CHM 101
- Having a minimum cGPA of 2.0.
Freshman students who want to declare a major in BS in Applied Physics:
Freshman Sciences who have completed the freshman requirements may apply to declare their major in Applied Physics provided they satisfy the specific minimum requirements for their major, which are:
- Passing the following courses with satisfactory performance on: PHY111, MTH101 and MTH 102.
- Having a minimum cGPA of 2.0.
General notes:
The admission committee takes into consideration the entire record of the student, number of repeated courses (W & F), and SAT I scores.
Approval of Declaration of Major petitions is not guaranteed. Even if the student has fulfilled the minimum requirements, the decision depends on the availability of places in the desired major.
All freshman students MUST equate the freshman year with the Lebanese Baccalaureate. It is the student’s responsibility to pass by the Registrar’s Office to inquire about the required documents for the freshman equivalency.
Declare major in BS in Bioinformatics; BS in Computer Science; BS in Mathematics:
- Freshman students who want to declare a major in BS in Computer Science or BS in Mathematics.
Freshman Sciences who have completed the freshman requirements may apply to declare their major in Computer Science or Mathematics provided they satisfy the specific minimum requirements for their major, which are:
- Passing the following courses with satisfactory performance on: MTH 101 and MTH 102
- Having a minimum cGPA of 2.0.
- Freshman students who want to declare a major in BS in Bioinformatics:
Freshman Sciences who have completed the freshman requirements may apply to declare their major in Computer Science or Mathematics provided they satisfy the specific minimum requirements for their major, which are:
- Passing the following courses with satisfactory performance on: MTH 101, MTH 102, BIO 101 and CHM 101
- Having a minimum cGPA of 2.5.
