Samir Abou Samra ‘95

Samir Abou Samra is a master software optimizer and troubleshooter. He works for DigiPen and teaches at DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, Washington.

Since 2003 he’s been working on simulation projects for Boeing and assignments for Renault Formula 1. His work with Boeing involves graphics simulation, artificial intelligence, human interactive virtual environments, human behavioral descriptive language, which all led to a new high-level programming language. Boeing gave him an award for solving a crucial problem in aircraft computer systems.

He has also worked with giants Microsoft and Nintendo, among other companies. Throughout his career, he has co-authored eight U.S. patents.

Samir has a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Computer Science (1992 and 1995).
