LAU to host 2010 international programming contest
Following a stellar participation in the ANARC–International Collegiate Programming Contest in Alexandria, Egypt, in November 2009, LAU was awarded the organization of the next instance of this annual event.
Two teams from LAU coached by Dr. Faisal Abukhzam participated on November 22, 2009. The “Sailors” (Raja Baz, Rashad Kabbara and Amer Mouawad) achieved sixth place among 45 teams of best programmers from the participating Arab universities. The “Stars” (Marwan Fawaz, Karim Jahed and Hussein Mohsen) solved four problems, which is considered a very promising achievement since they had just finished the first year at LAU and had yet to complete the third programming course.
We look forward to further success at the next regional ICPC in November 2010.
