Field trip to Fanar Psychiatric Hospital in South Lebanon
The students enrolled in Abnormal Psychology and in Counseling Psychology went to Fanar Psychiatric Hospital in South Lebanon on April 27, 2013.
Students were allowed limited access to patients, and learning takes on a different dimension in such a setting. There was a resident psychologist at hand who explained to students the various symptoms and disorders studied about in class. After the visit, students are debriefed and a discussion takes place of what transpired.
Students are reminded to separate the human being from the disorder. The human being is always greater than the disorder.
