Screening event and Q&A with Philippe Aractingi

The Department of Communication Arts cordially invites you to screening of the “Making-Of” of “Heritages”, a new film directed by Philippe Aractingi, followed by a Q&A session with the director.

About Philippe Aractingi

Philippe Aractingi has directed and produced more than 40 documentaries and 3 feature films to date, which have affected Lebanese cinema both at home and abroad.

While Bosta reached a record number in 25 years with its 140 000 entries in Lebanon, Under the Bombs has been distributed in around 30 countries, was selected for the Venice Festival, The Sundance Festival, and the Dubai Festival, and has won 23 prizes to date.

Mr. Aractingi will be coming on Wednesday, March 12th to discuss his most recent film, Heritages, which will be released in all Lebanese cinemas on March 27th, 2014

Heritages recounts the exiles of the director’s family, across four generations and one hundred years of the Levant’s history. It brings up themes related to the identity of minorities, and to the importance of History in the Levant. It also questions the process of memory transmission.
