Workshop on Sound: Art & Practice

The Department of Communication Arts organized a very successful workshop on Sound Art & Practice for Communication Arts students, which was conducted by Mr. Jean Madani on Thursday, June 12th, from 11:00 am till 4:00 pm in Gulbenkian Theatre.

The purpose of this workshop was to introduce participants to the use of the Communication Arts 24-channel StudioLive mixer for professional live and recording sound productions. The participants gained in-depth training on how to operate the StudioLive console.

At the end of the workshop, participants were able to have a basic knowledge of how to set up sound equipment for lectures and concerts in any of our theaters at LAU, including recording the events and placements of monitors and microphones.

Mr. Madani is a musician, a renowned Lebanese producer and a sound engineer responsible for running the Notta Studio founded by Mr. Ziad Rahbani and his own studio. Mr. Madani has been working with artists such as Feirouz, Ziad Rahbani, Cristo Fontecilla, Ghazi Abdel Baki, and Basel Rajoub among others and has produced more than 50 albums nationally and internationally in the past 15 years.
