Lecture: “Globalization and the Politics of Migration”
The Department of Social Sciences is hosting a lecture entitled “Globalization and the Politics of Migration” by Dr. Paul Tabar. The lecture will be given as part of Dr. Imad Salamey’s globalization seminar.
Dr. Paul Tabar is an associate professor of sociology/anthropology at LAU Beirut. He is the Chairperson of the Department of Social Sciences and the director of LAU’s Institute for Migration Studies. He is the author of many publications that examine migration politics, including his most recent “‘Political Remittances’: the case of Lebanese expatriates voting in national elections and Being Lebanese in Australia: Identity, racism and the ethnic field, and Bin Laden in the Suburbs: Criminalizing the Arab Other.
