On Personalizing Cancer Therapy

Dr. Ralph Abi-Habib, Associate Chair of the Natural Sciences department at LAU, has been working on personalizing cancer therapy and identifying selectable tumor markers for the past decade.

During the third main TEDxLAU event in August 2014, he shared his insights with the audience while posing an essential question: why is chemotherapy still the most common form of treatment, despite its limitations?

In order to further explain this topic, he was joined on stage by dancers portraying the different cancer cells and what happens in our bodies when we undergo chemotherapy. This was later compared to a more personalized approach to treatment.

This is a tribute to the “Dance your PhD” movement.
