SAS New Faculty: Orientation Session
The School of Arts & Sciences held two orientation sessions for new full-time and part-time faculty members this Fall.
The first session took place on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 on the Beirut campus; while the second session was held in Byblos on Tuesday, October 28, 2014.
The two sessions featured detailed presentations by Dean Nashat Mansour that covered: school organization, school bylaws, and the rights and duties of full-time and part-time faculty. A Q&A session followed each presentation, in addition to individual ½ hour meetings with the new full-time faculty members. These meetings focused on student advising, expected services to the school, and midterm review and promotion, as well as the resources the school and university make available to full-time faculty in order to support their research.
The School would like to wish its new faculty a fruitful time ahead as we wholeheartedly welcome them to the LAU community.
