In addition, the event will re-launch the “Page Turner” book club, supervised by Dr. Kris Aercke, which encourages students to read and engage with texts in LAU’s reading community.

Students can visit this table for more information on the book club and join on the day of the event.

Poetry Slam

Between 12pm and 1pm, students will participate in one of the most vital and energetic contemporary movements across Europe and America in performance art, the poetry Slam. The Slam session at the LAU “Literature Day Event” is a poetry competition in which poets perform original work alone or in teams before an audience, which serves as judge. The work is judged as much on the manner and enthusiasm of its performance as its content or style. Slam poems are not intended to be read silently from the page. Poems will be performed live by participating students and will convey relevant issues of concern to our contemporary life styles.
