Jana Mansour Jamaleddin is a clinical psychology researcher with an interest in psychotraumatology, trauma-related processes, and psychotherapeutic outcomes among populations exposed to cumulative trauma, war, political conflict, and social and economic crises. Her research aims to advance trauma and conflict psychology by examining early-life predictors and lifetime determinants of post-traumatic stress symptomatology, with particular attention to culturally embedded risk and protective factors, war-related and media-mediated exposure, and post-traumatic outcomes in Lebanon and the Middle East. Her work spans clinical psychology and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), with a strong interest in therapeutic mechanisms and treatment outcomes. In parallel, she delivers trauma-sensitive psychosocial interventions for displaced children and adults.
Thurayya Zreik is a researcher and PhD candidate in Global Health at the University of Cagliari in Italy, where her doctoral research examines media exposure and secondary traumatic stress. She holds an interdisciplinary background in medical anthropology and public health and has extensive research experience across Lebanon and the Arab region, with a particular focus on mental health in conflict-affected settings. Her work engages participatory and mixed-methods approaches and explores a range of topics including the social and political determinants of health and culturally-informed approaches to mental health. She is also an advocate for mental health and human rights and is committed to research and policy practices that center lived experience.
Nour Yaktine, PhD(c), is a Clinical Psychologist whose work combines clinical practice, academic teaching, and research. She currently works as a Mental Health Counselor at the American University of Beirut (AUB). In addition, Nour is a Psychology Instructor at several higher education institutions, teaching both undergraduate and graduate-level courses. Her research interests include psychometric validation, attachment and couple dynamics, and mind–body connections. Trained in Psycho-Organic Analysis, Nour is particularly interested in exploring the relationships between psychological experiences, bodily processes, and relational patterns. Her work is guided by an integrative perspective that emphasizes the complex interplay between mind and body in the study of human behavior and experience.
Elissa Badr hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Children’s Psychological Disorders from Cardiff University. She is currently a PhD candidate in Clinical and Health Psychology in the UK, investigating the impact of adverse childhood experiences on psychological outcomes and treatment-related processes in individuals with testicular cancer. Her research interests lie in psychotraumatology and psycho-oncology.
Celine Kraitem holds an MSc in Psychological Research from the University of Oxford and a BA in Psychology from the Lebanese American University. Her research focuses on moral psychology, empathy, polarisation, and trauma in conflict-affected populations. She has hands-on experience providing psychosocial support in humanitarian settings, including working with displaced children and families in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. She has been researching trauma-informed education for children in Gaza, and continues to conduct research on moral and political psychology and trauma and mental health in Lebanon.
