Nutrition and Food Science
At the heart of LAU’s academic excellence, the Department of Nutrition and Food Science offers cutting-edge curricula and enriches the university’s Liberal Arts curriculum by fostering scientific literacy among all students.
The department provides a dynamic blend of specialized courses in human nutrition, clinical dietetics, community nutrition, management systems, food service management, food microbiology, food chemistry, food processing and food production. The programs focus on innovative and student-centered active learning methods, which combine evidence-based theoretical knowledge with immersive, hands-on laboratory experiences to emphasize an entrepreneurial approach and equip students with the skills to launch new ideas, develop businesses, and tackle emerging challenges in the nutrition and food science sectors.
Graduates can pursue advanced studies or careers in various fields, including nutrition, dietetics, public health, the food industry and pharmaceuticals, as well as research and consultancy to drive positive change in the fields of nutrition and food science across the globe.
