Computer Science and Mathematics
The Computer Science and Mathematics Department offers several undergraduate and graduate programs in Computer Science, Bioinformatics and Mathematics.
LAU was the first university in Lebanon to offer an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, in 1976, followed by a Master’s degree in 1992. The BS in Computer Science is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.
The bioinformatics program, launched in 2014, has a solid grounding in liberal arts education and is highly multidisciplinary as it covers courses in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics in addition to specialized courses in Data Mining, Genomics and Proteomics.
Our mathematics program provides you with a strong background in fundamental skills such as logic, analytical, critical and higher order thinking.
