Teaching Diploma in Education

According to the government requirements for the Teaching Diploma equivalence, a TD requires 24 credits over and above a BA/BS.
You may pursue one of the following TD programs:
- TD Intermediate/Secondary (for students holding or completing a BA/BS in a subject area, such as Arabic, Computer Science, Economics, English, Math, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Social Studies, Psychology, Performing Arts, Arts or Physical Education).
- TD Elementary/Early Childhood for students who hold a BA/BS in Elementary or Early Childhood Education
Student Learning Outcomes
Graduates in the Teaching Diploma will be able to:
- Distinguish the different theories of education, and understand their impact on the curriculum.
- Develop clear and measurable instructional objectives.
- Plan unit lessons, curricular materials, and activities for teaching.
- Select and implement appropriate strategies for teaching specific subjects at the early, elementary, or middle/secondary level.
- Organize learning environments, and implement theories of child guidance and behavioral management, so as to create positive classroom atmosphere.
- Act as problem solvers, and make appropriate, and informed decisions in teaching/learning situations using critical thinking, and analysis.
- Plan strategies, and prepare tools for assessing students’ achievement (formal as well as informal assessment).
- Pursue professional development opportunities as life-long learners.
